Local Attractions
Cascade Mountains: Albany is at the foothills of the beautiful Cascade Mountain where you can find miles of scenic byways, hiking trails, mountains, lakes and rivers to explore. There are eight covered bridges on scenic highways. You can also visit historic Brownsville, one of the oldest towns in Oregon.
Museums: Albany has three museums all within walking distance of each other and all with free admissions. The Albany Regional Museum, Dentzel American Carousel Museum and the Monteith House Museum.
Oregon Coast: The beautiful rugged Oregon Coast is only 65 miles from Albany. There are miles of sandy and rocky beaches to explore. Newport, Oregon is home to the Oregon Coast Aquarium and Hatfield Marine Science Center. You can also play at Chinook Winds Casino or explore antiques, shopping and much more.
Wineries: The Willamette Valley is the heart of Oregon's Wine Country. Since 1968 Oregon has evolved into a world-class wine growing state with more than 300 wineries producing wine from 72 grape varieties. Oregon wineries focus on producing small-batch high-quality artisan wine.
Universities: Two of Oregon's premier universities are a short drive away. Oregon State University is only 11 miles from Albany and the University of Oregon is 44 miles.
